Officially a Student Doctor!

So every medical school begins their student's education by giving them a white coat. A physicians white coat has lots of symbolism attached to it. Doctors haven't always known how important it is to be clean, and to stop the spread of disease from patient to patient by having good hygiene. So when doctors began to realize this they started wearing white coats to show that they were clean (blood and stuff will show up really well).

Here is a picture of the faculty at Alex's medical school.

This is Alex introducing himself to the audience. They had him tell his name, school and major.

This is the dean of the medical school officially giving Alex his white coat that symbolizes his entrance into the medical profession.

Alex was more excited to attend this ceremony than his college graduation (which he didn't even go to). :) He felt like he wasn't done yet, and that getting to put on his official white coat would mean much more to him.

Starting Medical School together as a family. And I got my hair cut to look like yours Ann, so you better not grow it out now. :)

WOW! Alex is looking good in that white coat!!! I can imagine that this day was much more rewarding than graduation at the U. We are so excited for you two. I'm glad to see you both in the picture. It has and will definitly be a joint effort, as you, Sarah support Alex in reaching his goal. Finally all the blood, sweat, (mostly Alex's) and tears (mostly Sarah's) have paid off. You are now on your way to becoming Doctor Swan. Good Luck and we know you both will work hard to accomplish your goal.
